Why Am I Getting Headaches?

Why Am I Getting Headaches?

If you have trouble sleeping with snoring, sleep apnoea, have headaches, neck aches, tinnitus or a sore jaw then you may have TMD.

At Progressive Dental we treat TMD with Orthotic Therapy or Neuromuscular Dentistry. This has a clear 4 step process that is easily administered by us to remove your symptoms forever.

1 – Bite Assessment
2 – Discovering your ideal bite
3 – Recording your ideal bite
4 – Achieving your ideal bite with orthotic therapy or Neuromuscular Dentistry

Orthotic therapy requires you to wear an unobtrusive oral splint day and night. It is shaped to look like your natural teeth. When in place, it achieves your ideal bite. An orthotic will halt any further wear of your teeth. It will prevent progression of other bite-related concerns and over time it will minimize TMD symptoms.

Some people find that their symptoms resolve instantly and others find it may take months before their symptoms resolve. Every person responds differently to orthotic therapy; however the vast majority will experience an improvement in their TMD symptoms. To complete the treatment long term, a full orthodontic treatment such as Invisalign invisible braces can be used to permanently correct your bite.

After a successful TMD treatment, many people report an easing or complete disappearance of all the above issues.

Our team at Progressive Dental, led by Dr Phillip Stein can diagnose and treat your TMJ Disorder. If you would like to find out more and book a consultation at Progressive Dental, please do not hesitate to contact us today. Your smile is yours for life.
